Super Super Late V Day Post - It was WORTH it!!

OK, so I know I haven't written anything normal in AGES, and the V day post for this year kept getting postponed, but PEOPLE, I think we have made a breakthrough, yes?

My dad was OK with me getting a kitten home.

Yep. You read that right.

While my father was  onboard with a cat, my mother definitely looked very worried. She has started taking an interest in the dogs around us so I suppose there is SOME hope there? But one never knows with my mom. Besides the extra workload of caring for yet another incapable being is not something I would feel happy about pushing onto her.

Of course, such an exceptional response requires an exceptional kitty, and I have been spamming EVERYONE I meet in passing with her photos.  It would be a shame to not show you lovely folks exactly what he liked:

Sleepily protesting our intrusion on her Highness' day:

Realizing she has to cater to her fans:

Reflecting on the best way to kill us all

Finally gazing at me with THOSE EYES (while plotting my righteous death- look at her pretty paw!!):

So this beauty was the gorgeous baby that my dad found at the local grocery store. She had two other siblings (my dad was actually hoping I would jump at the opportunity and say YES the first time he told me there were kittens up for adoption, He liked the one with the funny nose. Sadly I don't have a picture of that one, because they were all snapped up. Never knew people were so cool with pets these days!)

I have no strength left for myself each day. I cannot imagine being a pet parent anywhere in the near future. Also the whole reduced sleep thing is not something I look forward to. So it was with great reluctance that I accompanied my father to the store. I didn't expect to fall in love there!! It was totally unfair, and now I spend time gazing at her lovely eyes and watching her play (I took videos!) on my phone, sighing longingly and wishing I had just got her. (She got adopted soon after)

I  share her pictures/ shove my phone at anyone unfortunate enough to have spoken to me for more than 5 minutes. I also make sure I tell them that yes- although I am absolutely smitten, I have not got her home, because I have no time. I am pretty sure P threw up her hands in exasperation as she realized I might end up never owning a kitty of my own (but the responsibility!! Blinky and Bop themselves were a handful and they weren't even mobile in the general sense! Also I had time then!). I totally wish P adopted a kitty, but she told me I speak about them as if I was in an abusive relationship. Here's me sending positive vibes to the universe at large and at P. Who knows, maybe she does get a cat and I visit them often :) (P if you're reading this - just look at her. Imagine these eyes gazing at you sadly while you tap away at your keyboard, demanding that you pet her to sleep).   C doesn't like cats (Why are you like this!?). :(

In other news, we need cat parks!! It's places where cat owners bring their babies to relax and explore. I say this because I saw an absolutely adorable orange ragdoll called Posh, who was oh! so polite in his cute little harness and his quiet tree trunk taps. (I doubt my father has ever seen me run until that day. It took my brain a few seconds to realize that Posh was a CAT)

In further news, there's a street kitty that likes being pet by me and is very loud while asking for pets. She doesn't always like me, and doesn't eat anything that we offer, but on the days that she does feel friendly, she is the best!! (her kids hate me though)

I seem to be meeting a lot of interesting individuals lately!! And although I cannot seem to do much about these interesting individuals, one might say, there's hope that someday I would be brave enough to take the next step!

Until next time,

DragonRider

I was always a big fan of your words and the way you describe your emotions. But now, my respect towards has grown ten folds thanks to the good deed you did for the kitten.

That sweet little munchkin is happy thanks to you.
