Samosas
People. I apologize. It has been AGES since I wrote anything (I know, I know, my laziness astounds me too). Let's break this sad streak today.
I have a couple (ok. more than a couple) posts in mind, (House of the dragon. Instagram. etc. Anyway-) however this post was something I wrote on a whim, not very long ago, when I wasn't in a good place.
We know Samosas are good. I just didn't know they could mean so much and could inspire eloquence. I was happily proven wrong.
It has been a while since I caught glimpses about a person, just by reading about them. (My insights into the people I do know have grown - not as much as I would have liked, but grown nevertheless and for that I'm very very grateful). They start off with whatever it was that captivated their mind on that day/ hour/ minute, and somehow end it with samosas. Reading those little nuggets was as though I received a much needed jolt that got me writing , frantic to capture whatever it was that I was feeling.
My mind surprises me sometimes. I would be going through the day, avoiding whatever it is that I should be paying attention to (procrastination, you beauty!) and then suddenly - WHAM!! I collide head-on with a bundle of emotions that look exhausting to unpack. There's stuff I cannot even describe. At times like this, everything seems hopeless, and I unload onto folks that have a lot more serious matters of their own to work through. (I am not the best of people to the ones that need me. Atleast not as much as I would like to be)
At one such time, just as I was about to burst out, I saw this chain of tidbits - about samosas. Ignoring piles of work that require my immediate attention is something I excel at. So of all the days I could have read it, I chose a day when I absolutely couldn't afford to waste time reading about random stuff - to read this in its entirety. And I was GLAD that I did.
Back to Samosas!!
Samosas write good poems. Samosas are quite punny! Samosas delve deep into random thoughts like the importance of rounding up numbers, and about aliens. Samosas sometimes get philosophical and think of the lessons they still haven't learnt from life. Samosas feel sad at times and aren't afraid to share how they feel. They talk about their losses and their regrets. They dream. Of ideals (among other things) that people like preaching about but shy away from following. Samosas find life lessons from the oddest places. (who knew an escape room could start a rant about inclusivity?) They think about werewolf zombies.
Samosas are filled with potatoes (Yum). Samosas on a gloomy friday evening? Super Yum!
I probably won't post every Friday. Perhaps the Saturdays? It matters not. I just hope that the things I write about make you look forward to grabbing that hot cuppa, lazing back with some samosas (or kachoris, or a sandwich - I don't discriminate :P) and relax for a bit! Here's to piping hot Samosas!!
PS: Radioactive zombies from outer space - C, is there a movie about this? The idea sounds absolutely bonkers!!
Until next time,
